It is estimated that at one time there were over 7,200 one-room schools in Michigan.  Explore the history of one-room schools with someone who briefly taught in one and later volunteered in another for 17 years.  Some of our topics will be the buildings of these schools, the teachers’ certifications, the "three R's", discipline, and more.  A "taste of history" will feature lunch box favorites of this time period.
