This class is perfect if you are a beginning cyclist and you know the basics of riding but are looking to explore the rapidly growing sport of road cycling. Your instructor, an avid cyclist, will provide the rules for sharing the road with motor vehicles, and the basics of urban riding; gear use and shifting gears; proper braking and bike control; climbing and descending hills; riding etiquette and traffic laws related to cycling. You’ll also learn how to change a flat tire, an important skill if you get one 10 miles from home!?Wear your gear and bring your bike because, if weather allows, you’ll take a short ride using the safe riding tips you’ve learned. NOTE: Bring your bike into the Ohm Building, Room 109.
