First Ladies – NEW
Class | This class is completed
It was Julia Grant, wife of the 18th President Ulysses S. Grant, who put the title of First Lady on the job. Sometimes called the second hardest job in America, it is truly a job like no other. The First Lady serves as the nation's hostess and as a political partner, and she is often an advocate of social causes. A few of the First Ladies we will focus on are Martha Washington, Dolley Madison, Mary Todd Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, Rosalyn Carter and Michelle Obama. This class also includes a tasting of recipes from a White House pastry chef.
