The Knowledgeable Knitter: Make Every Project a Success
Class | This class has been canceled
Are you new to knitting, or has the pandemic encouraged you to start a new hobby? Join us as we share tips and tricks to help you be successful as a knitting crafter—swatching, pattern reading and the best way to save and share knitting projects. If you love to knit, you have been here before: New project picked out – check! Yarn purchased and ready – check! Needles the size called for in the pattern – check! Swatch – wait – what??? Swatching sucks, but it is extremely important. Even if the pattern says that “gauge doesn’t matter” it actually does. You found a super cool pattern design for a fabulous scarf. How do you decide that the pattern is right for you? There is no set way to write a pattern and designers have different ways to put patterns together. We’ll explain what to look for in a well-written pattern, and decipher some of the more confusing aspects of patterns. Ever heard of Ravelry? It’s a website that was developed with fiber lovers in mind. With a free account, you can keep track of your projects, stash, needles, and much more. We’ll share how to get your account set up and then you’ll be ready for your next knitting project!
