Join us to learn about Victorian personifications of Death as we cover everything from banshees to black dogs including strange deaths from poisoned stockings and gloves; the role of undertakers and grave diggers; typical headstones and their symbols; the many uses of crape; the custom of wakes and watches; photographing the dead; society’s expectations for widows and widowers; and why some of the dearly departed returned as ghosts.
