Want to see your name listed as the author at the top of a news story? Budding journalists can get their first bylines in our new Journalism and News Writing Camp, led by a former Kalamazoo Gazette reporter! In this fast-paced camp, students will learn the basics of news and feature writing, including how to generate story ideas, identify and interview sources, publish stories to an online news blog, and use social media to increase the impact of their stories. Each student will receive their own reporter’s notebook and will have access to iPads to supplement their reporting on campus with photos and videos. Additionally, the camp will feature special guests from local newsrooms.
