Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by honoring the men of Irish descent from the 24th Michigan Infantry. This Brigade joined the 28th Massachusetts, 63rd New York, 69th New York, 88th New York, and 116th Pennsylvania to fight bravely during the Civil War. They fought at Bull Run, Antietam, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg. Join author, genealogist, and lecturer, Jim Jackson, as he takes students on a learning journey that goes beyond this famous Brigade and on to highlight other Irish companies that served as well. Included will be the 23rd Illinois from Chicago, which was partially composed of Michigan Irishmen who couldn't get into the original Brigade.
