The purpose of this 40-hour ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Initial Certification (5110), a part of the 5000 series, is to certify individuals who are equipped and prepared to ensure a swift and thorough field response as it pertains to the testing of multiple types of backflow prevention assemblies.

The goal of the course is to promote best practices in the field from legal obligations to practical knowledge. Fire University seeks to guide trainees through the process of theory and hands-on instruction. To accompany the classroom training, the trainee will also work their way through a series of tests on multiple types of backflow prevention assemblies.

After completing this course, trainees will be prepared, from a legal obligation to a practical knowledge standpoint, to carry out the responsibilities of a backflow prevention tester.
