This course will provide the learner with an introduction to the principles and procedures of Applied Behavior Analysis. Upon completion of this course, the learner will understand the vocabulary of ABA and learn how environmental events influence human behavior. The student will also learn how to measure behavior in applied settings, learn how to structure the learning environment to increase pro-social behaviors and/or decrease maladaptive behaviors and perform functional behavioral assessments.

Lussier, Lianne

Lianne Lussier is a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree invPolitical Science and received her Master’s in Elementary Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College in 2009. She taught in a general education setting for 3 years before taking a position at a designated health agency in behavior analysis to work primarily with students diagnosed with ASD or who had a history of trauma. She served on the Vermont Association for Behavior Analysis board as both a student member and treasurer for several years. She also contributed to the creation of a local online journal publication called the Journal of Community-Based Practice in Applied Behavior Analysis (JCPABA) that showcases the research of regional practitioners. Her interests include continuing to disseminate ABA throughout the state of Vermont by teaching, establishing more ABA programs, and participating in research projects.
