This course examines the philosophical underpinnings and program components of providing federally mandated services to infants/toddlers with diverse abilities and their families. Specifically, individuals will have opportunities to learn family and child assessment strategies and tools, practice implementing a comprehensive developmental evaluation, develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), identify strategies for working in the natural environment (e.g., home)and design developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for infants and toddlers that address team identified outcomes.

  • This is a 3 credit graduate course, with credits from NVU (Lyndon).
  • This course is for the Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement.
Cassidy, Lori

Lori has been a Special Educator for over 35 years in the State of VT. She spent the first 4 years as an Intensive Needs teacher for adolescents and then as an Early Childhood Special Educator. She has worked in a variety of settings and positions from being a classroom teacher/director to being a traveling special educator. Lori received a Masters in Early Intervention from UVM. She is a VT AOE State approved Trainer and Coach for Early MTSS focusing on the Pyramid Model.
