Do you need to make significant changes to your MTSS infrastructure and systems in order to more effectively implement multi-tiered programming designed to serve all students? If so, this intensive two-day workshop is the perfect time to plan for the next school year. Strategies and suggestions shared are drawn from the collective experience of schools from across Vermont well underway with MTSS.
Teams will be offered the opportunity to consider, self-assess, and plan for systemic change within the following areas:
- Service delivery models for targeted and intensive level intervention – considerations for what you get and what you don’t for each model to achieve balance and benefit
- Defining roles, responsibilities, and purposes for universal, targeted, and intensive level instruction to maximize best “instructional fit” and intended outcomes
- Specialized instruction: What is it anyway?? How is it different from intervention? Who can do what, and how do you pay for it?
- Increasing capacity without necessarily increasing staff – working smarter vs. harder to improve efficiency with existing resources
- Scheduling considerations and ideas
We strongly suggest you attend with a team that might include: building administrator, classroom teacher, interventionist, special educator, guidance counselor/behavior specialist, district level coaches and district administrators.
