Collaboration and Co-Planning Using a Universal Design for Learning Framework Series (4 Days)

Workshop Series |

Open

$650.00

Target Audience: Ideally, teams of general education teachers and special education teachers. The content would also benefit coaches and administrators in their support roles for teachers.

High quality first instruction from expert teachers is one of the most powerful influences on student learning. Educators must ensure that all of their learners are consistently available to receive this high quality instruction, as well as successfully manage associated curricular expectations. Simply put, if students can’t access the instruction, they won’t make progress. Given the great variability in today's classrooms, how do we ensure that our approach can reach all learners?

In this workshop series, participants will identify the most common barriers to accessing learning within classrooms and across curricula, and practice with tools and resources designed to mitigate those barriers. We will also discuss systems for collaboration and co-planning that ensure a proactive, preventative approach, including the three principles of Universal Design for Learning – Multiple Means of Engagement, Representation, and Action/Expression.

Workshop #1 - October 3 What is UDL-Based Co-Planning, and Where Does It Fit within a Comprehensive MTSS?
Workshop #2 - October 30 Multiple Means of Engagement: The “Why”of Learning
Workshop #3 - December 11 Multiple Means of Representation: The “What” of Learning
Workshop #4 - January 10 Multiple Means of Action and Expression: The “How” of Learning
