Courageous Citizenship
4-weeks (last 4) | Available (Membership Required)
Many Americans believe that political polarization is destroying our country but feel powerless to stop it. Braver Angels is a national non-profit dedicated to political depolarization and civic renewal through skills workshops, community forums, town halls, parliamentary conversations and community-led solutions to local problems. Our course will present some of those offerings: “Depolarizing Within” reveals how we demonize and stereotype people who disagree with us, and “Skills for Disagreeing Better,” teaches how to listen to others and express our own ideas more effectively. Finally, we will conclude with a Braver Conversation about a topic of the class’s choice.
- Recommended: Consider taking "What Can We Do About Political Polarization?" which meets during the first four weeks in the same time slot. These courses complement each other.
