Gentle Hikes in the Hudson Valley

4-weeks (first 4) | Registration opens 8/28/2026 9:00 AM EDT

This course offers VCLLI members the opportunity to build community and get some exercise while enjoying the beauty of our Hudson Valley. Four hikes are planned in different locations in Dutchess and Ulster Counties. The hikes will range in length and are expected to take approximately two to three hours each. Trails will be in the moderate-to-difficult category, and may include woodland trails with steep hills, and uneven rock and soil surfaces.

 October 1 -        Mohonk Mountain House, Eagle Cliff Loop Hike, New Paltz, NY

 October 8 -        Thompson Pond Preserve, Pine Plains, NY

 October 15 -      FDR Home, Roosevelt Woods Trail, Hyde Park, NY

 October 22 -      Peterskill, Yellow and Blue Trail, Minnewaska State Park, Gardiner, NY

Teresa Quinn

Teresa Quinn is a retired Vassar College student affairs administrator. She looks forward to sharing her passion for hiking and being in community with Vassar LLI members in the beautiful Hudson Valley.

 

Maureen King

Maureen King is a retired Vassar College administrator who finds joy in walking the many scenic trails of the Hudson Valley. 

Susan Mac Lean

Sue MacLean is a retired social studies teacher who loves to hike in the Hudson Valley and enjoys introducing groups to local history, different locations and new adventures.
