This semester’s Qigong class addresses common concerns: back pain, arthritis, insomnia, digestive issues and weakened immunity. As we move up in age, so many of us run into common concerns that can be very troublesome. By simply using breath, movement and attention, Qigong can bring relief from back pain, arthritis, insomnia, digestive issues, weak immunity and other issues, often without side effects or risky procedures. The Qigong techniques in this class are easy to learn and enjoyable to practice. When performed along with a healthy lifestyle, these Qigong exercises help to bring positive effects that are often life changing.
John Platt
John Platt has been learning and teaching Chinese martial arts since 1966. In 1991 he began a serious study of Tai Chi Chuan under various teachers, including Shifu Jiang Jian-Ye, and of Qigong from Masters Lee Holden and Dr. Yang Jwing Ming. He holds Level IV teacher certification from the Santa Cruz Qigong Center and Level III Advanced Instructor Certification from the National Qigong Association. John has taught numerous Qigong programs at the Kripalu Institute in Massachusetts and is currently working on several publications on topics such as energy from trees and Qigong for emotional balance.
