Psychology and Literature: One More Time

4-weeks (first 4) | Registration closed 9/1/2024

In this class, we read novels and plays that introduce us to characters as they emerge from social interactions in particular settings and particular times. A brief overview of the major theories of personality development will provide a basis for our discussion of how our understanding can be enhanced by adding this dimension to our analysis. We may also note what gets lost or distorted by this approach. The reading list will be available by mid-August to give you time to read ahead.
Warning: we typically have a good time, but the success of the class depends on class discussion!
