A deep dive into the fascinating and controversial world of plastics in their many forms. As a
material, plastics are both life savers and ecosystem destroyers. This 4-part course will explain how society got to where we are with this remarkable substance and will explore routes out of the mess
we are in.

Paul Ciminello

Paul Ciminello is an environmental professional with almost 40 years of training and experience. Paul received his dual advanced degrees in environmental management (specializing in hydrogeology and water resources) and public policy (economic analysis) from Duke University and moved to the Hudson Valley in 1986, where he has worked continuously for 16 years (until retirement in 2019) in the fields of environmental
investigations and remediation. Paul has taught at Marist College on an adjunct basis since 1999, teaching sections of Introduction to Environmental Issues as well as teaching an upper-level course in Environmental Investigations and Remediation.
