Students will review core concepts of pre-calculus that is essential to calculus.

Topics include solving equations and inequalities, exponential/logarithmic functions, trigonometry, parametric functions, and their graphs.

Students will preview most of AP Calculus AB topics (Chapters 1 – 8). Topics include limits, derivatives of polynomial, trigonometric, and logarithmic functions, behavior of functions in relation to their derivatives, extrema, definite/indefinite integrals and their applications, and basic differential equations.

Students will be given assignment and solutions overlapping with actual assignment of their AP courses in coming semester, which will improve transition to their AP classes and relieve the pressure due to work overload.

Students will learn essential programming skills (using TI calculators). Programming skill is essential not only to AP Calculus BC course, but to science and engineering in students’ future. Using TI calculators, students will explore basic concepts of programming.
