2Wed-2C-10: Can our Constitutional Republic Survive?

Class | Registration opens 7/20/26 10:00 AM

Can our constitutional republic be saved? As we observe this year the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and next year the 240th anniversary of the ratification of our Constitution, never since the Civil War has our Union’s existence been so at risk. The Supreme Court, the Executive and the Congress are acting in ways incompatible with the Constitution. Initially, we will discuss recent decisions of the United States Supreme and lower federal courts and where relevant state courts. We will focus on voting rights as the mid-year elections approach in November 2026. We will consider central provision of the Constitution and explore relevant decisions of the Supreme Court. Religious Liberty will be a main focus of our discussions after voting rights.

The class will be lecture and discussion.  Preparation will be reading articles that I send.

  • No book, but I will send relevant articles as they become available.
